Colorado's New I-70 Toll Lane is Getting Steady Use So Far

New, 1 comment

In an effort to reduce the awful traffic on Interstate 70, the gateway to many of Colorado's ski areas, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) opened an eastbound 13-mile express lane that clocks in as one of the country's most expensive tolls. Since opening in December, CDOT reports that the lane has received steady use with about 400 cars used the express lane on Saturday, Dec. 26, and about 800 opted to pay the fee and save time on Sunday, Dec. 27. The Vail Daily reports that so far, the cost to use the lane has been $3, but the prices may rise up to $30 to manage traffic volume. Head over here for more info on how exactly the lane works and why you need an electronic pass if you want to save some money.
