These wall tiles are not immediately recognizable as being inspired by the upholstery from subway seats, and that's probably a good thing. But transit buffs may recognize the pattern—sans distinct colors—as the one that was originally designed by Enid Marx and Harold Stabler and installed in the London Underground in 1938. Lindsey Lang is the designer behind the tiles, which are going for £185.00/square meter.
