As part of Airbnb’s latest promotional contest, the short-term rental company is offering two lucky individuals the chance to stay in Dracula’s castle on Halloween night. Called Bran Castle and located in Romania, the Transylvanian fortress is famed for its connection to Vlad the Impaler, a 15th-century prince who infamously used stakes to impale his victims.
Airbnb launched a contest on Monday that asks applicants to use "vampiric wit" to imagine what they’d say to Count Dracula if they met him. If chosen, two winners will be flown to Romania and taken to Bran Castle by horse-drawn carriage on October 31. The pair will also get a tour of the castle’s 57 rooms, a candlelight dinner, and then bed down in red velvet-trimmed coffins just as Dracula did in Bram Stoker’s popular horror novel. And in a parody of the "House Rules" normally seen on Airbnb listings, the winners are advised against bringing garlic, silver jewelry, and taking mirror selfies.
