New graphic, colorful wallpaper is totally '80s

(And totally Memphis-inspired)

When you wake up in the morning and the alarm gives out a warning and you don’t think you’ll ever make it on time—it’s alright because you’ll be ensconced in the graphic squiggles and shapes of Murals’ latest collection of ’80s- and Memphis-inspired wallpaper where nothing will be able to break your cool.

Taking cues from the pop iconography of shows and movies like Saved By the Bell and Miami Vice and the afore-mentioned postmodern school of design, the Memphis collection, as it’s shamelessly called, comprises a series of colorful prints featuring bold geometric shapes that appear to be floating against a grid backdrop, shadowed wedges drifting among black dashes, and pastel scribbles overlaying solid and outlined circles and triangles.

The kitschy wall coverings aren’t just for kids: They can add a dose of playfulness to an otherwise staid environment like an office or a meeting room, or simply punch up a hallway or other small conveyance space, if you’re not quite ready to go totally ’80s.
