Kendall Jenner, the model and reality star who "weirdly loves interior design and real estate," recently dropped $52,000 on a new sofa. Entertainment Weekly reported the groundbreaking purchase, which Jenner announced on her app.
Of course, that kind of cash doesn’t buy just a regular ol’ couch. Jenner bought the Boa by Edra, an aptly named, wackadoo product that resembles a pile of boa constrictors that got all tangled up in each other, if boa constrictors were made of shiny blue velvet.
The piece was designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana, and Edra describes it as "a large woven nest." It features no structure, and you can bury yourself in its 120 meters of tube. It looks like it would be ideal for children, if you let children play on things that cost more than a year’s salary for nearly half of Americans.
Jenner, the second youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, bought a $6 million Los Angeles mansion earlier this year, and she’s been working with interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard to deck it out.
In the app announcement of her newest piece, Jenner shed some light on the decorating process and her newest purchase:
"It's definitely a process and a lot more work than I anticipated. I'm glad I'm taking it slow and only getting things I really love. And, my interior decorator, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, has been a huge help in finding unique pieces."
"Recently, I realized I'd been really good and came in way under budget on my furniture allowance. I got super excited and bought another amazing couch. One day, I just had a vision about the entry room and knew exactly what it needed. As soon as I saw the couch, I fell in love. The ‘Boa' by Edra couch is all woven and a really groovy navy with purple shimmer. It works perfectly in the space! I still have a long way to go, but am having so much fun along the way!"
