Ravishing Austin Lake House Shows Off Custom Touches

Looks like Aamodt/Plomb Architects, the Cambridge, MA-based duo named one of the inaugural Curbed Groundbreakers in 2015, has been keeping plenty busy. In addition to a radiant midcentury barn remodel and a prefab home built in a year, the firm has also recently finished this gorgeous lake house in Austin, Texas. Built around existing trees, the sprawling home is marked by custom details throughout. For example, tapered Lueders limestone create changing shadow patterns on the facade throughout the day, while interiors completed in collaboration with Jennifer Vaughn Miller feature a sleek fireplace, bespoke woodwork, and glass shelfs behind the pool-area bar that, frankly, are bound to drive some open-shelving haters crazy.

The lakeside grounds, featuring landscaping by Michael Boucher Landscape Architects, also includes a guest house, boat house, fishing dock, and swimming dock. More photos here.
