It looks like New York's Big Tupper ski area won't start the lifts this winter. Warm weather and a lack of precipitation has made it difficult for Northeastern ski areas this season, but Big Tupper is the first ski area to decide to close permanently for the 2015-2016 winter. The ski area announced, "While the weather has worked against our efforts this year, let's keep our eye to a brighter future. Please know that this decision did not come easily and that your efforts are greatly appreciated. There are a lot of discussions taking place about the future operation – all very positive. We will make every effort to keep you updated as things unfold."
