Lovers of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie School of architectural design will once again have a unique opportunity to experience a stunning collection of historic homes firsthand thanks to the internationally renowned annual Wright Plus Housewalk taking place on Saturday, May 21st. Featuring nearly all new sites compared to last year's line up, the tour includes rare interior access of private homes designed by the famed architect. The list includes the Harry S. Adams House, Thomas Gale House, and Louisa and Harry Goodrich House. One of this year's most notable additions is the William Winslow House, which is making its return to the event after a 39 year hiatus. Built between 1893 and 1894, the Winslow House represents Frank Lloyd Wright's first independently commissioned home after the architect departed from firm Adler & Sullivan and features the horizontal exterior banding, deep overhanging hip roof, and central hearth that all became key features of the Prairie School style. In addition to work by FLW himself, the housewalk also includes sites designed by a number of his notable Prairie School colleagues such as William E. Drummond, John S. Van Bergen, Charles White, and Barry Byrne.
