The World's Most Luxurious Chairlift Just Opened in Austria

New, 1 comment

If you're tired of icy, snowy chairlift seats and a slow, cold ride to the top, try heading to Kitzbühel, Austria this winter. A newly opened eight-person chairlift isn't just nice, it's the most luxurious chairlift in the world. Outside Magazine first reported on the new Brunn eight-seat, which opened in December in the Pengelstein region. We've seen heated chairlifts before (like Okemo Mountain Resort's $6.9 million orange heated bubble), but Austrian lift manufacturer Leitner Ropeways have really stepped up their game with this one. Under the slogan "Bringing business class to the slopes," the Brunn uses high-end leather upholstery (think top-dollar racing cars) on ergonomically designed heated seats. The lift also comes with a storm-proof shield and locking safety bar. And while Austria was the first locale for the luxury chairlift, you can expect the eight-person hauler at other high-end ski areas in the future; the spokesperson for Leitner told Outside that other resorts are interested in purchasing the fancy lift.
