Los Angeles's Design, Bitches is more than the delightfully irreverent name of their studio, though you'd be excused for stopping at it in your tracks. Their latest project, Button Mash, an Asian-fusion restaurant, arcade, and bar in the city's Echo Park neighborhood. According to Dezeen, the 4,000-square-foot restaurant's punchy interiors were influenced by "film noir and Postmodernism."
A muted palette for the concrete floors and walls combines with colorful accents—like tables with brightly colored sides and legs, and vibrant ribbing between wood wall panels—for an effect that's flat-out fun. Plywood banquettes feature upholstery with funky, graphic patterns, adding to the playful vibe underscored by the arcade games beside the bar.
