Sleek New Multipurpose Tables Make Space for Food and Work

New, 2 comments

Now you can stop pretending your dining table isn't also your home office

The best multipurpose furniture saves space, consolidates several functions usually performed by individual pieces, and, perhaps most importantly, looks great. So these tables by ace Australian designer Charles Wilson for Michigan-based high-end furniture powerhouse Herman Miller are a total delight. Dubbed the Carafe Table, the line comprises a collection of wood (cherry, oak, ash) tabletops supported on metal (bronze, powder-coated black, white) legs.

Each table in the collection is available in three sizes and includes drawer storage under its top, in addition to special in-drawer spaces for charging electronic devices and cable management. It seems like a clever solution for space-starved small-apartment dwellers—if, that is, the table is in the budget.

Read an interview with the designer over at Herman Miller's blog.
