Bonanza Star Loved Bonanza So Much He Built a Replica of the Ranch From the Show

New, 1 comment

Actor Lorne Greene starred as Ben Cartwright in the television program Bonanza from 1959 to 1973, so it's pretty safe to say that he felt very at home in the show's fictional setting, the Ponderosa ranch on Lake Tahoe in Nevada. It's actually very safe to say that because in 1963 he built a house in Mesa, Arizona modeled entirely after the ranch from the show (which in real life was a set on at Paramount Studios in Hollywood). That house, named Ponderosa II by Greene, who died in 1987, is now on the market for $849,900.
