A watchdog group is calling on governments to take action

Watchdog group Europa Nostra, led by its president, opera singer Plácido Domingo, has named the Venice Lagoon the most endangered heritage site in Europe, calling on local, national, and European governments to come together to take action and save the city from the impending threats of rising sea levels, sea bed erosion, and an overabundance of tourists and boats in the lagoon.
