Helen Hamlyn chair of design at London's Royal College of Art Jeremy Myerson, speaking to Dezeen, has floated the idea that perhaps not every new office should be designed to mimic Google's adult playground aesthetic. "One of the things the Google effect has had is the idea that work is somehow a playground and you can infantilise your staff. It's actually a very bad idea," he said. He later added, "Work's a serious thing."
We don't know what this guy and his fancy credentials are talking about, and we maintain that our productivity would increase tenfold if we had a ball pit and an actual beach in the office.
