"1990 called. They want their track lighting back." This was the cheeky comment about a new modern home in Seattle that got us thinking about all the lighting fixtures that we see day in and day out while covering homes on Curbed. Besides track lighting, which, yes, is still shining bright in 2016, there are quite a few other lighting styles that, despite all their aesthetic or functional appeal (and there's plenty), are getting a bit tiring to see. Namely:

Paper lanterns
Arc lamps
