Dutch textile designer Aniela Hoitink created this dress out of disc-shaped pieces of mushroom mycelium, meaning that it is both inventive and (potentially) delicious. Hoitink's stated goal is to "change the way we use textiles," by creating a material that can be grown to fit the exact specifications of a dress, meaning that the dress-maker has to create only the amount they need, eliminating waste. Other advantages would of the dress are that it is easy to repair, and compostable.
