Cleveland Will Install Huge Speakers to Blast Rock Music During Republican National Convention

The idea is to the promote the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, not drown out the convention

The city of Cleveland will soon host both the Republican National Convention and a $500,000 public art project involving six groups of "artistically designed loudspeakers" that will blast rock music intermittently. The speakers will not exist to drown out the convention, however. Rather, they will play 60-90-second snippets of songs from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted artists in order to promote that institution, and hopefully draw more visitors (in addition to Chris Christie, who will undoubtedly spend every spare moment there paying homage to a guitar pick signed by Bruce Springsteen).
