A look we're loving these days? Midcentury homes that retain and embrace their perfectly pale original brickwork. The latest home tour from The Design Files is another stellar example. Located in the Melbourne suburb of Beaumaris, this 1960 house built from brick, glass, and California redwood has held on to its original layout and important interior details.
Current owners Matt and Carly Skinner, who live in the home with their two young kids, have only made cosmetic changes like replacing carpets, appliances, window dressings. The ground floor lounge shown above, certainly a looker, offers the original brickwork, skylight, fireplace, and built-in seating. The soothing brick is also seen in the dining area and downstairs living room. Get the full tour on The Design Files.
