Architects Want to Build a Partner Dome For Buckminster Fuller's Montreal Biosphere

50 years after its construction, the dome may be getting lonely

We have no way of confirming whether the famous geodesic dome designed by architect Buckminster Fuller is indeed "lonely," as a video from New York-based Studio Dror claims. But we do know that they have designed the dome a "complementary partner," a neighboring dome made out of an aluminum frame covered in climbing vegetation, which they hope to construct next year for the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Expo, where the original dome was debuted.
