Historic Budapest Architecture Becomes Wild 'Sky Tunnels' in New Photos

Simply stunning

As the great Mark Twain once observed, truth can truly be stranger than fiction. These bewildering photos, seemingly depicting elaborate tunnels to an infinite sky, are in reality shots of century-old buildings found on Nagykörút (or Grand Boulevard), a major thoroughfare running through Budapest, Hungary. Yet by turning the lens upwards, local photographer Zsolt Hlinka has managed to showcase old architecture from a riveting new perspective, where everything looks distorted, gravity-defying, and all in all, Inception-like in the most wondrous way. For the full series, check out Hlinka's project site.
