1960s Austin Bungalow Surprises With Bold Color Combos

Think outside the palette

Though Austin couple Claire and Parker Brody couldn't complete major renovations on their rental, a 900-square-foot '60s Bungalow in downtown, they still managed to make it their own with colorful paint jobs and decor in almost every room. Some highlights to watch out for? The unexpected combo of gold and blues in the living room, red and avocado green (plus a large almost monochromatic print!) in the kitchen, and a guest bedroom with a rich landscape of greens.

In fact, as Claire tells Design Sponge, that whole guest room was designed around a piece of vintage floral fabric, which has been turned into a pillow in the middle of the bed. Who says you have to decorate with a palette? Get the full tour here.
