30 Stellar Projects That May Win RIBA's First-Ever International Prize

Projects include works by Zaha Hadid and David Chipperfield

This week has been a busy one for award announcements. On Monday we brought to you the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) list of London's 30 best projects and the shortlist for the Aga Khan Architecture Award.

This morning we continue our coverage of the annual RIBA Awards by highlighting some of the projects considered for the International Prize, including two projects by Zaha Hadid (who won RIBA's Stirling Prize two years in a row as well as RIBA's Gold Medal) and three by David Chipperfield. The International Prize is RIBA's first award that is open to all qualified architects anywhere in the world. Thirty projects have been selected to undergo a review process, after which up to 20 of those project will be up for International Excellence and the award for RIBA International Emerging Architect of the Year. Then, a group of six buildings will be visited by the jury, and the winner will be announced in December.
