Contractors Unearth 500 Pound Bomb Shell in Bath, England, Force Massive Evacuation

1,000 people had to be evacuated while the bomb is dealt with

One of the great parts about doing construction/renovation is that you can turn up all kinds of hidden treasures. Sometimes you find an autographed baseball in the wall of a house. Sometimes you find some vintage movie posters hidden under the floorboards. Sometimes you find a 500-pound World War II bomb shell near a high school in Bath, England and 1,000 people have to be evacuated. Bomb crews are currently working to construct a barrier around the shell and transport it to a safe location for a controlled explosion.

Still, pretty cool find, right?
