German City Gives Up on People Looking Up From Phones, Puts 'Don't Walk' Lights on Ground

If you can't beat 'em, stop 'em from walking into traffic

The German city of Augsburg has decided: if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, or at least prevent 'em from walking directly into traffic. Hence, it has installed flashing Don't Walk lights on the side of a street so that people who walk around staring at their phones and not looking where they are going have at least a chance of glimpsing that they are about to head into a street. The video below is in German, but you can more or less guess what everybody is saying based on context.
