The German city of Augsburg has decided: if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, or at least prevent 'em from walking directly into traffic. Hence, it has installed flashing Don't Walk lights on the side of a street so that people who walk around staring at their phones and not looking where they are going have at least a chance of glimpsing that they are about to head into a street.
