Another week, another fresh crop of tiny house news. Here, we catch you up on the standout projects you should know.
359 is a new tiny house from Portland-based firm PATH Architecture It measures 144 square feet and features an airy, lofted interior.
Why we love it: The whole thing can easily be rotated 359 degrees—get it? The last degree is spared to prevent tangling of water and power lines—to face the sun, avoid it, or change views. Rad!
This is a newly completed 20-foot-long Barn Raiser model from Tumbleweed Tiny Houses. As owners shared with Tiny House Swoon, they spent three months finishing the house themselves and will be traveling around the U.S. in it for the next six months.
Why we love it: The colors!
New Yorkers are plenty familiar with micro apartments, but this week they got a chance to see a bona fide tiny house up close. Partnering with local homelessness-focused non-profit Community Solutions, TaskRabbit got 10 "Taskers" to build a completely livable tiny house in 72 hours, right in the middle of a pedestrian plaza in Chelsea.
Why we love it: The completed house, with its all-white interiors and all, is pretty darn cute (and on trend!) Even better, the tiny house is currently being auctioned off on eBay, with all proceeds going towards Community Solutions.
This week, Québec-based builders Tiny House Lumbec unveiled their new design, a roughly 24-foot-long home with some outsize amenities, including a wood-burning stove, 60-inch bathtub, and a relatively spacious loft "bedroom."
Why we love it: Besides the aforementioned features and the house's generally suave interiors, we also appreciate this blog post from Lumbec, which breaks down the costs that go into building a house like the one they just debuted. (The post is in French, but nothing Google Translate can't handle.)
Wishbone Tiny Homes down in Asheville, NC built this roughly 300-square-foot custom tiny house with a front porch, dutch door, and heated floors.
Why we love it: The attention to detail! Check out all the discreet storage, not to mention a pet door!
