Japanese architect and Pritzker Architecture Prize laureate Tadao Ando has designed another concrete-and-glass jewel box of a building, this time as a renovation of a museum into a seven-room boutique hotel.
The Setouchi Aonagi is located in Matsuyama, on the island of Shikoku in Japan, and overlooks the Seto Inland Sea. Its spacious rooms—all of which are over 1000 square feet—feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows and stripped-down interiors, which aim to offer a feeling of "minimal luxury."
Other amenities include an infinity pool, a hot-spring jacuzzi, sauna, dining hall, and gallery. Guests can also reserve a private pool called "The Cave." Take a look.
