Meditative Space in England Is Made Out of 10,000 Different Types of Wood

More trees than you knew existed, all assembled in one space

Artist Katie Paterson and architects Zeller & Moye created this installation at the Historic Royal Fort gardens in Bristol, England using wood from over 10,000 distinct trees, ranging from petrified wood fossils to trees that have just recently been discovered. The samples took three years to collect and assemble into the meditation hut, named "Modernist Grotto."
