ASH NYC Creates Clean, Modern Apartments in 1870s Providence Building

Scandi vibes aplenty

Over in downtown Providence’s historic Custom House District, a circa-1875 High Victorian Gothic building has been reimagined as boutique apartment complex, with 10 streamlined, modern units housed above a hip donut shop. The mastermind behind this transformation? Design and development firm (and Curbed Young Guns!) ASH NYC.

Coming in two years after The Dean, the rad Providence boutique hotel ASH NYC created in a 1911 building, 32 Custom sports a noticeably cleaner look. Apartments feature lofty, airy interiors with white and pale wood finishes. In the open kitchen, white oak European cabinetry meld with Corian counters, Whirlpool stainless appliances, and matte black Brizo fixtures, while the bathrooms employ white marble and tile. Take a closer look.
