How to build your own backyard pool

New, 1 comment

A summer of fun awaits!

The weather is heating up. Actually, that’s something of an understatement. The weather is boiling, and we have all been reduced to walking buckets of sweat. Nothing sounds more appealing right now than taking a dip in a nice, refreshing pool. Unfortunately, everybody else is currently having the same exact idea, and all the public pools in your area are going to be packed, i.e. the opposite of relaxing. So, what is there to do? We’ll tell you what: you’re going to dig a pool in your own backyard. Sound daunting? It shouldn’t, because all you have to do is follow these simple steps.

1) Dig a hole

Every pool starts as a hole in the ground. Don’t worry about making it perfectly pool-shaped—that’s going to come later. Just start digging!

2) Oh...

Uh, maybe we should have been a little more specific about how big to make that hole. That is a very big hole. Wow, you really went for it, didn’t you?

3) Put some dirt back in the hole

It’s too big of a hole. Why would you even dig a hole that big? Who wants a thirty foot deep pool? It’s not safe.

4) Okay, that looks... exactly the same

It’s almost like you dug a hole that is too big to ever be refilled. Good job, we guess?

5) Sit in the hole

The good news is, it’s going to be pretty cool down in that hole. So just build yourself a rope ladder and climb down in there and have a nice sit. Summer is saved!
