Rapper/music producer/fashion designer/entrepreneur/mogul/etc. Kanye West is a man of impeccable taste — how else to explain the fact that his greatest muse is a $110,000 Le Corbusier lamp? — so if he says he wants to design furniture for Ikea, perhaps Ikea should take note.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, Kanye appealed directly to the Swedish furniture retailer, saying, in fairly typical Kanye-speak, "Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create. Allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes — I want more products from Ye."
Kanye also may or may not have announced his intentions to invent the wall-mounted TV (or at least bring it to the college dorm room for the first time) saying "I know that if I do a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm where the TV goes on the side of the wall."
Unrelated to furniture or Ikea, in the same interview Kanye said that, "When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views, I don’t have views on politics." So, there’s also that.
We are very much looking forward to the Kanye West-designed minimalist college dorm room, and also we stand by our previous position that he should turn his tweets into wall decals.
