London-based Institution of Structural Engineers has just announced its shortlist for the prestigious Structural Awards. The annual ceremony recognizes the world’s most talented structural designers, showcases cutting-edge developments in the industry, and promotes the role of structural engineers not only as "guardians" of public safety but also as creative design professionals.
There are 10 main award categories, including arts and entertainment structures, pedestrian bridges, structural heritage, sustainability, and infrastructure and transportation structures, as well as regional awards. Among the shortlisted projects are the Shanghai Tower, the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, and the Serpentine Pavilion.
The winners, commended projects, and, of course, the Supreme Award for Structural Engineering Excellence will all be announced at the ceremony on November 11 in London.
