If all-marble-everything is your home decor look, good news: Turkish designer Bilge Nur Saltik has created a series of bluetooth speakers that feature layers of marble and wood, designed to help project sound. Just unveiled at this year’s London Design Festival, the "Loud Objects" collection turns home tech into an opportunity to show off functional design objects as well.
The speakers, which can pair with any bluetooth device and come with a rechargeable battery, can also be used as candle holders, serving plates, and vases. "Loud Objects" is just the latest in a slew of design interventions on the humble speaker. Other recent projects? A cubic device that turns old speakers into a full-on wireless stereo system.
