Location: Pound Ridge, New York

Price: $2,000,000

Pound Ridge, NY, a town of 5,000 located an hour northeast of Manhattan, turns out to be quite a hub for beautiful midcentury woodland retreats. Here’s another prime example: a four-bedroom, 5,800-square-foot “mini estate” boasting vaulted beam ceilings, huge floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces, radiant-heated flagstone floors, teak cabinetry, and more.

Built in 1965 by one Vito Fosella, a Frank Lloyd Wright collaborator per the listing, the home offers generous common rooms and floating stairs to more private quarters. Nature views are abound throughout the space, including in the large marble bathroom, and various glass doors provide access to stone patios and balconies. In addition to the main house, you also get a guest cottage, tea house, and scenic gardens. All this right next to the 755-acre Mianus River Gorge nature preserve.

But it’ll cost a pretty penny for this gorgeous escape. The 2.24-acre property is now asking $2,000,000, after spending a few years bobbing around on the sale and rental markets. Take a tour, below.
