Rising among boundless natural beauty—mountains, beaches, and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea—this new modern home constructed on the French island of Corsica had ample reason to become one with its surroundings. Maison H2, designed by Vincent Coste and Bruno Fléchet, sprawls across a cape, using an incredible sheltered outdoor space at its core to turn all the attention onto the sea.
The home is topped with a vegetated roof and clad in red cedar, creating an organic feel throughout. The indoor-outdoor “spine” frames sweeping views of the ocean, while serving as a transitional space furnished with loungers and, at one point, structural support in the form of a giant boulder. There’s also a couple pools along the way.
Living quarters extend on either side of the breezy corridor, with the main living room sporting glass walls on three sides—that’s code for views, views, and more views!
