See St. Michael’s stunning Tiffany glass windows

The historic church has one of the largest collections of Tiffany glass

St. Michael’s Church on 99th Street in New York City, is home to one of the largest Tiffany & Co glass installations to remain in its original location. The historic church was construction more than 125 years ago, and it was designated as a New York City landmark in 2016.

Tiffany glass is used in the church’s seven stained-glass windows, which depict St. Michael’s Victory in Heaven. There are also several light fixtures and mosaics.

Unlike other glass, Tiffany glass layers colors on the inside. When light shines through, there’s a richer and more vibrant effect. Take a look for yourself in this Curbed Tours video.
