Today in rad things you didn’t know you needed: a birdhouse side table perfect for the booklover’s living room, bedroom, or study. First spotted on Contemporist, the ingeniously multifunctional piece from Rotterdam-based Siebring & Zoetmulder Design Product combines a tabletop, book marker, drawer storage, and lamp into one pared-back design.
Made from birch plywood, with a white-coated metal stand and brass lighting detail, the table lets you keep a book on its roof, a drink, glasses, or more books underneath, and whatever else you’d need in the lower drawer. Intrigued? You can snag it for about $420 on Etsy, though it also looks likes a fun project to DIY. A simpler version with just the “house” part is seen in this adorable tiny cabin in upstate New York, used as bookshelf.
