Some of the most intriguing contemporary designers have joined forces for a benefit auction, now live on Paddle8 and through April 7. There’s a piece by glass designer and Curbed Young Gun John Hogan, geometric desk lamp by interior designer Kelly Wearstler, seating by studios like Egg Collective and Fort Standard, to name a few.
Organized by Design for Progress, a project launched by design publication Sight Unseen to support progressive causes, the auction gathers some 40 works donated by the broad roster of designers. Many of the pieces were specially commissioned or are special editions or prototype designs. Starting bids begin at $210 for a “Cloudy Waters" record-style board and go up to $4,800 for a Thaddeus Wolfe glass vessel. All proceeds will go to the American Civil Liberties Union, Sierra Club, Run for Something, and the Campaign Legal Center.
Take a look at some highlights.
