If you haven’t noticed, summer’s finally in full swing, and with the Fourth of July holiday just around the corner, all we can think about is having fun in the sun. And because this is Curbed, that fun better involve some built environment—which is why we’ve rounded up a few ahh-inspiring examples (from Instagram, natch) of swimming pools that coexist in perfect harmony with architecture.
A few of them may seem familiar to you—there’s the pool at the Stahl House in Los Angeles, and the one at Marcel Breuer’s Stillman House in Connecticut, to name a couple—but others are delightful discoveries courtesy of some generous hash-tagging.
Below, feast your eyes on 18 gorgeous pools that come with a healthy side of impressive architecture. Then look up your nearest public pool (or hit up a friend or family member with a wader) and get swimming.
