NASA revealed a first look at a concept rover for Mars exploration and it’s massive. Clocking in at 28 feet long, 14 feet wide, and 11 feet high, the muscular rover—unveiled at a ceremony at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center—looks a bit like what we image a typical, Earth-bound camper would if it went to CrossFit classes daily.
Down here on Earth, the rover can travel at speeds up to 70 miles per hour, the equivalent of 15 miles per hour on Mars, notes Designboom, where we first spotted this beaut’. The rover would be deployed to help with research missions on Mars.
Back in April, NASA unveiled an inflatable greenhouse for use on Mars—and also clued the public in about the best houseplants for purifying the air.
