When it comes to furnishing kids’ rooms, it can be hard to find quality pieces that are fun (and durable) while still able to fit in with the rest of your home. We’ve already shared a list of online stores for inspired children’s furniture, but here’s a look at some more great ideas, including a brand new kids line from husband and wife design team Cortney and Robert Novogratz.

Following up on their bold and colorful 9 by Novogratz collection, the duo just launched a new Walmart collection that’s all about modern kids furniture. The Addison Collection offers a minimal Scandinavian-inspired look—think white and pale wood dressers, bookcases, and more.

Online home decor shop Lulu and Georgia also has a limited edition kids line, Lulu and Georgia Littles. These Pinterest-worthy pieces are whimsical and dreamy, with soft fabrics, muted colors, and lots of minimalist animal silhouettes. You can get a similar look at Target’s Pillowfort collection, where you’ll find bright prints alongside soft pastel rugs, and Ikea’s upcoming Klämmig collection of baby blankets and towels featuring graphic prints in muted hues.

Below, we’ve rounded up some of our picks from the above brands and more, covering everything from storage and seating to beds and rugs.

Storage

The Land of Nod

When it comes to playrooms, accessible storage is a must. Getting kids to clean up after themselves is hard enough without getting drawers involved. Big, flexible baskets look good and are easy to throw toys into after playtime is over.

Lulu and Georgia — Makeda Raffia Hamper ($285)
One Kings Lane — Pom Pom Kids Hamper ($80)
The Land of Nod — Kneatly Knit Rope Bins ($49)
Target Pillowfort — White Rope Basket with Fringe ($18.99)
Novogratz for Walmart—Addison City Bookcase (49)

Seating

Lulu and Georgia

Seating, especially when small children are involved, is as much for you as it is for them. Yes, Lulu and Georgia’s tiny chairs are adorable (see above) but you’ll also want to make sure to have a comfy seat yourself when called into their room in the middle of the night to check for monsters.

The Land of Nod — Everly Rocking Chair ($1,699)
Novogratz for WalmartVintage Tufted Armchair ($189)
Lulu and Georgia — Maxie Tub Kids Chair ($305)
Target Pillowfort — XL Structured Bean Bag Chair ($44.99)

Lighting

The Land of Nod

A simple, fun floor lamp is a great way to tie a room together and let your decorating work shine. When it comes to kids’ rooms, you’ll obviously want to avoid any sharp edges, so rounded lamps in neutral tones work great.

Lulu and Georgia — Cupcakes and Cashmere Stacked Ball Floor Lamp ($185)
One Kings Lane — Belle Floor Lamp ($196)
Target Pillowfort — Turned Floor Lamp ($56.99)

Table lamps and night lights are where you can get creative with lighting in kids rooms. For cute without being too cutesy, we love ceramic animal heads in neutral colors and metallic geometric shapes.

Lulu and Georgia — Cupcakes and Cashmere Mesh & Marble Table Lamp ($169.99)
The Land of Nod — Geometric Rose Gold Lamp ($99)
Target Pillowfort — Unicorn Nightlight ($16.99)

Beds

The Land of Nod

Kids beds run the gamut from timeless wire frames to trendy platform beds and regal-looking upholstered headboards. If you want the bed to be a statement piece, a tufted wingback (pictured above) is dramatic and fun. The Novogratz Addison line also includes a wingback headboard you can add to any twin bed.

The Land of Nod — Monarch Tufted Twin Bed ($1,299)
Lulu and Georgia — Skylar Kids Platform Bed ($1,215)
Target Pillowfort — Amelia Upholstered Wooden Kids Bed ($409.99)
Novogratz for Walmart Addison Twin Daybed ($189)

Rugs

Target

When it comes to carpeting kids’ rooms, there are a few things to consider. On the one hand, it’s harder to clean when they inevitably spill their snacks. On the other, a soft play surface is a better idea for your knees and their tendency to fall over. It’s just a matter of what’s more important to your housekeeping style.

The Land of Nod — Crystal Mosaic Rug ($299 - $799)
Lulu and Georgia — Aelfie Flamingo Sheepskin ($259)
Target Pillowfort — Triangles Shag Area Rug ($59.99 - $89.99)

Wall Art

You can get really creative with art in kids’ room. If you’re the wallpaper type, ones with animals and plants are perfect for a nursery. For older kids, positive graphic prints encourage confidence and creativity.

Lulu and Georgia — Anewall Oh Deer Wallpaper Mural ($469)
The Land of Nod — You Go Girl Canvas Banner ($39)
Target Pillowfort — You are Amazing Screen Printed Glass Art ($22.99)
