Location: Williamstown, Massachusetts

Price: $980,000

What comes to mind when you think of a log cabin? Probably something similar to this six-bed, six-(full!) bath home in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The house is the archetype of a wood cabin, with long notched-log beams that sit atop each other like Lincoln Logs.

Great room of cabin with sofa and chairs

The timber for the house was hand hewn (translation: chopped with an axe) in Virginia and transported to the Berkshires, where it was assembled with notched log construction. Like in a classic A-frame, a loft here looks onto an expansive great room with a cathedral ceiling and great views onto the Berkshire mountains.

Kitchen with wood cabinets

The ground floor is dedicated to gathering places like the large dining room and kitchen, while the four upstairs bedrooms and downstairs en suite have their own full bathrooms, giving everyone plenty of privacy. Current owners have used the space for a small B&B, but we won’t blame you if you keep it all to yourself.

The 1.85-acre property, located at 61 Cobble View Road, is asking $980,000.
