Flatpack furniture startup Floyd is launching a sofa

Free same-day delivery included for select cities

Floyd, the Detroit-based manufacturer of minimalist flatpack furniture, is getting into the sofa game. This October, the company will start shipping its first sofa in a variety of size, color, and material combinations.

In true Floyd style, the sofa has a clean and simple silhouette. Customers can choose from a two or three seater and add a chaise lounge (prices range from $1,200 to $1,600). The sofa’s frame is available in Floyd’s signature birch wood or upholstered in either a light gray, light blue, dark blue, or mustard yellow.

For those in need of compact, streamlined seating to furnish an apartment, it’s worth adding the Floyd sofa to this list of relatively affordable couches you can buy online to consider.

Besides the product itself, the sofa’s biggest selling point might just be its convenience. In select cities, Floyd will provide free same-day shipping, an unprecedented turnaround time for sofas. Customers just have to choose a time between 4 and 9 p.m. for the boxed sofa to arrive at their doorstep.
