Curbed is always on the lookout for show-stopping midcentury moderns and elegant Victorians, but one of our preferred home categories is the quaint cottage or cabin. This cabin in the woods was one of our favorite listings of the summer, and the latest to cross our desk is a two-bedroom, three-bath beauty in Norwich, Connecticut.

Located about two hours southwest of Boston, the 2,074-square-foot house was constructed in 1853 and boasts an array of original features. The front Dutch door includes leaded glass and opens to a foyer with wainscoting. A large formal living room features wide heart pine flooring and tall ceilings, while the updated kitchen includes quartz counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Other perks include mahogany cabinetry, Carrara marble, and a spacious master bedroom.

Outside, a large two-story carriage house made from old growth cedar and finished with Gothic details sits on the picturesque 1.36-acre property. Love what you see? 165 Rockwell Street is on the market now for $498,000.
