Located in Fillmore, California, a little more than an hour from downtown Los Angeles, this four-bedroom, four-bath midcentury home just hit the market for the first time. Designed in 1945 by California architect Frank W. Green, the home is situated on a hill with views of pastures, the town of Fillmore, and the agrarian Heritage Valley.

Built in the style of the classic California ranch, the home was featured in Sunset magazine and photographed by Maynard L. Parker, a Los Angeles-based architectural and garden photographer, in 1946. With a formal colonnaded entry and double height ceilings, the 3,033-square-foot home is light and airy. Expansive glass walls open to panoramic views and a terrace, while a fireplace adds coziness.

Original details abound, like the home’s custom millwork and bathrooms—one in a peach tile and another in light pink. Outside, plentiful patios allow for outdoor entertaining, and a pool and guest house pavilion provide a place for recreation. Other perks include a three car garage, motor court, and a walled herb garden.

Love what you see? 555 Morris Drive is on the market now for $1,395,000.
