Located in Norwich, on the border between Vermont and New Hampshire, this five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home is the latest listing to catch our eye. Constructed in 2003, the modern home is situated on a peninsula twenty feet above the Connecticut River. This vantage point allows for 180-degree views of both the river and the surrounding forests to the north and the south.

Measuring 8,100 square feet, the home’s exterior and interior was constructed entirely of concrete, yet large windows add a lightness that contrasts with the thick facade. The design called for dramatic views from the main living spaces, so the architect flipped the traditional floor plan and put the living quarters on the second floor. The open floor plan in the dining and lounging areas features 18-foot ceilings and stackable glass doors that open up to a patio outside.

The ground level boasts an informal living room with even more glass walls, and an east wing has four bedrooms—all with 12-foot ceilings—off of a central corridor. Other perks include three acres of manicured lawns, a heated pool, a 115-yard par 3 practice hole, and 1,000 feet of river frontage (just check out the video) with a private dock. Interested? 1224 Route 5 is on the market now for $4,700,000.
