Love midcentury style but also want a move-in ready home? Check out this three-bedroom, two-bath house in Palm Springs, California. Built in 1958 by Alexander Construction Co. and designed by William Krisel, the home boasts all of Krisel’s trademark features: a low-slung roof, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and indoor-outdoor living.

Krisel made a name for himself through his affordable midcentury designs. He was also known for his sheer productivity—throughout his career, Krisel’s firm designed over an estimated 40,000 homes around Southern California and the surrounding area.

At 1,269 square feet, this Krisel home is modestly sized yet lives large on a corner lot wrapped in hedges. A 2018 remodel took the house down to its studs to add polished concrete flors, quartz countertops, teak cabinets, all new appliances, and Milgard thermally improved aluminum doors and windows. The spacious pool and spa outside is new, too.

Despite the improvements, much of home’s midcentury DNA remains. The home even made an appearance in 2019 during Palm Spring’s much-hyped Modernism Week. Into it? 505 South Roxbury Drive is on the market for $875,000.
