Dreaming of a place to take the whole family and get away from it all? Add this sprawling 93-acre retreat in the remote Sierra Nevada mountains (about 40 miles from Truckee) in California to the list. Constructed over the past 20 years, the compound consists of a 16,350-square-foot main residence designed by Dennis Zirbel.

It’s an alpine chic house built for huge groups, with four bedroom suites—two of them with a fireplace, sitting area, and covered balcony. Everything about the timber and rock structure is grand, from the large seating and dining tables to the expansive commercial kitchen; other perks include a recreation room, wine cave, patio kitchen with pizza oven, and multiple outdoor dining areas.

And as if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a a 5,500-square-foot guest bunkhouse, a 1,536-square-foot Carriage House, and a 3,240-square-foot, five-stall stable with apartment. Throw in the tennis court and 2,792-square-foot shop building with six garage bays, and you could move in with your entire extended family. Despite the accommodations, it’s the recreation that really shines, with opportunities for hiking, fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, kayaking, and more.

Interested? Cedars Lodge is on the market for $25,000,000. That’s a lot of cash, but it’s $30 million less than last year’s auction price tag, so for the richest of the rich, that’s a steal.
