Located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, this building is a former carriage house now home to an airy three-bedroom, three-bath condo. Paul Robb, a founding member of the synth-pop group Information Society, is selling the historic, 3,930-square-foot space.

The 1891 building started life as the carriage house of railroad tycoon J.J. Hill and is located on a cobblestone road across from the J.J. Hill House. Most mansions have carriage houses in the rear, but the bluff on which the Hill house was set made that impossible, so Hill built his carriage house across the street. The property fell into disrepair in the 1970s before it was subdivided into four condos and rehabbed by a local architect.

Today, the listing features original brickwork and tack cabinets, a library, and a lofted master bedroom with a wood stove. The main living spaces are bright thanks to a wall of windows that overlooks a 1,250-square-foot private courtyard previously used for exercising horses. Still, beamed ceilings and warm wood cabinets make the loft-like space feel cozy. Interested? 260 Maiden Lane 1 is on the market now for $949,000.
