10 Tiny Homes For Sale in Ski Country Right Now

View as Map

On our first day of Micro Week, Curbed Ski is kicking things off with a map of 10 tiny homes that are currently on the market. In order to make the cut, the listings had to be stand-alone homes (no apartments or condos), near skiing, and smaller than 750 square feet. Surprisingly, in a real estate market that boasts more massive chalets than micro units, there are actually quite a few properties out there for those who are willing to live with less. But less doesn't necessarily mean cheap. While the least expensive leasing is only $65,000, our most expensive tiny home in Sun Valley, Idaho, is asking a hearty $729,000 for its 750 square feet.

This cute red and white home in Stowe, Vermont wants only $160,000 for two bedrooms, one bath, and 720 square feet. The tiny house is convenient to Stowe Village and although it needs some updates, we think this ski "cottage" is quite the value.

We're not exactly sure how this Vermont home fits two bedrooms in only 400 square feet, but we do know that it's hard to find a lakefront home for $65,000 in the rest of ski country. There are plenty of windows and the setting looks downright serene.

This tiny studio in Frisco, Colorado may be only 600 square feet, but the owners have crammed enough bunk beds in the building to sleep "6 comfortably." It's also on an 8,799 square foot lot, which is probably why the price tag on this micro beauty is still a whopping $415,000. Oh- and because it right in downtown Frisco and only minutes away from skiing at Breckenridge, Copper, and Keystone.

Talk about micro, this 520-square-foot cabin in Steamboat Springs is just a short walk from downtown and sits on a .36 acre lot. The listing calls the 1 bedroom, 1 bath structure a "quaint bungalow home that provides rental income and offers existing taps and low county taxes." Of course, there's plenty of development potential, and a mighty high asking price of $610,000.

We're smitten with this 550-square former railroad cabin asking only $299,000 in Hunstville, Utah. One of our favorite ski bars is right down the street, and the property sits on 150 feet of South Fork River frontage. Skiing isn't far at Powder Mountain or Snowbasin Resort.

Not quite an A-frame, this 504 square-foot Big Sky cabin asking $469,000 sits on 1.457 acres of horse property. There are no interior photos, but the corral and 2-horse pole barn look nice enough.

280 South Main Street

At 750 square feet, this Sun Valley home might be a little bigger than some of the tiny homes on the list, but we're a sucker for a remodeled cabin that was built by ski-film maker Warren Miller. Now asking $729,000, the cabin was rebuilt in 2006 with in-floor radiant heat, a wood-burning fireplace, granite kitchen counters, and modern appliances.

Asking $175,000, this Mammoth Lakes abode boasts (per the listing) a "VIEW-T-FUL!" location. That's good, because inside you've only got 620 square feet, a tiny bedroom, and a one-butt kitchen.

2491 Bertha Avenue

The funkiest ski town cabin on the list, this South Lake Tahoe cabin only wants $215,000 for 684-square-feet of retro style. We're loving the classic A-frame architecture and the requisite twinkle lights.

51470 Lola Montez Avenue

Our tiniest listing (asking $115,000) clocks in at a measly 312 square feet in Soda Springs, California, a town not far from Truckee. But the inside looks surpassingly livable despite the micro kitchen and combined bedroom/living room.
