'Tis the season for the night sky to pyrotechnically please (those who don't require a thundershirt). Thus, we've put together a handy guide to ten fireworks events happening this summer across Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Since not all of the celebrations are honor of July 4th (Happy Independence Day!), be sure to check dates and, as always, the weather.

Mapping Summer Fireworks Across the Cape & Islands

Mashpee
Mashpee fireworks blast off on July 1 at 9:30 p.m. at Mashpee High School. There's a July 2 rain date.
Orleans
July 1 fireworks takes place at Rock Harbor, beginning at dusk. Rain date is Tuesday, July 2.
Falmouth
July 4th fireworks are scheduled for dusk at Falmouth Heights Beach.
Barnstable
Fireworks at dusk over Lewis Bay on July 4. The best views are from Veteran's Beach and Aselton Park. No rain date.
Provincetown
Fireworks start at dusk on July 4 and can be viewed from any bayside beach.
Edgartown
Post-parade, the fireworks will start at dusk on July over Edgartown Harbor.
Nantucket
Fireworks are set off from a barge at Jetties Beach at 9:00 p.m. on July 4th. Rain date is Friday, July 5.
Sandwich
The Sandwich Town Fair's fireworks take place on July 12 at 10 p.m. at Sandwich High School. Rain date is July 13.
Oak Bluffs
This August 16 event, Fireworks at the Ocean Park by the sea begins at 8 p.m.
Dennis
Dennis SummerFest fireworks will take place at dusk on West Dennis Beach, August 17.
